Prestige Radio to Broadcast Leatherneck Football

MACOMB, Ill. - The Western Illinois Athletics Department and Prestige Radio in Macomb will partner during the 2011 football season to broadcast the Leathernecks live on WJEQ 102.7 FM.

WJEQ is a 25,000-watt signal that covers areas south to Beardstown, north to Monmouth and Galesburg, east into Peoria and west into the state of Iowa. Prestige Radio (www.prestigeradio.com) is a locally-owned group of six radio stations with a variety of music formats and talk radio, in addition to broadcasts of local and area high school sporting events.

"We are pleased to broadcast Leatherneck Football to all of Western Illinois," said Nancy Foster, President/General Manager of Prestige Radio.

Western opens its home football schedule Saturday, September 10th against Jacksonville. Kickoff at Hanson Field, and debut of the new Matrix Turf surface, is scheduled for 3 p.m.

Locally owned and operated, WJEQ-102.7 FM, Macomb's heritage Classic Rock Station, is proud to once again team up with Western Illinois University for Leatherneck Football.

"We are so excited to be broadcasting Leatherneck Football," said Program Director Kim Williams. "Prestige Communications is dedicated to serving the Western Illinois community, and this is just another great way to do so."

Sales Manager Patrick Gharst added, "From the Sales Team to the Programming Staff we are rooting for another great Leatherneck season."
