MACOMB, Ill. - Western Illinois tight end Aaron Muhammad (Fort Worth, Texas/Arlington Heights/Tyler College) was named an Honorable Mention performer by the College Football Performance Awards for his efforts last weekend at Indiana State. It's Muhammad's second honor by the CFPA this year.
The senior co-captain set career-highs with five receptions totaling 60 yards and two touchdowns against the Sycamores. He caught a 3-yard touchdown in the second quarter and added a 33-yarder in the third.
Muhammad entered the game with five catches totaling 30 yards and a score on the season.
The Fighting Leathernecks (2-4 overall, 1-2 Missouri Valley Football Conference) return home this Saturday for a conference game against Missouri State. Kickoff at Hanson Field is scheduled for 6 p.m.
