MACOMB, Ill. - Western
Illinois senior co-captain Andrew
Robiskie (Fort Lauderdale, FL/Chagrin Falls {Ohio}) will represent the
Leatherneck Football program in the upcoming East-West Shrine Game.
The longest-running All-Star event showcasing college
football seniors will be held on Saturday (Jan. 19) at Tropicana Field in St.
Petersburg, Florida. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. (central) and will be
broadcast live on the NFL Network. The event benefits Shriners Hospitals for
Children.
Robiskie is one of 11 offensive linemen listed on the roster
for the West squad. He becomes the third Leatherneck in the last five years to
play in the prestigious event.
Robiskie lettered from 2009-12, and last year was one of
five co-captains on the team. He started 25 games in his career, the final
three contests of the 2010 season and every game the past two years.
He stepped in as a starter at center during Western's
playoff run of 2010 in which the Leathernecks won the regular season finale to
clinch a postseason berth and won their opening game at Coastal Carolina before
falling in the second round of the playoffs. He started games at both center
and right guard during the 2011 season, and last fall made all 11 starts at
center.
Robiskie has NFL ties in his family - his father Terry is an
assistant coach with the Atlanta Falcons and his older brother Brian has played
for three NFL teams during his four-year career, including six games last year
with the Detroit Lions. Andrew's younger brother Kyle is a rising senior on the Leatherneck squad.
