SENIOR (2011-12): 2012 Winter/Spring Academic All-Summit League... did not compete.

JUNIOR (2010-11): Recorded an overall record of 9-14 while playing at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 singles... was 5-7 at No. 2 singles including three-straight wins to open Summit League play... won two matches with Francisco Ortiz at No. 1 doubles.

SOPHOMORE (2009-10): Recorded five wins in the spring season going 3-5 in the No. 2 flight and 1-0 at the No. 1 spot...posted a 2-3 Summit League record with two-stright wins over competitors from Centenary and IPFW in the No. 2 spot...paired with Patrick Hammers for a 3-0 record in No. 3 doubles...went 2-2 at No. 1 doubles with James McGuire.

FRESHMAN (2008-09): Finished his first season with the Leathernecks with an overall record of 11-11, including a 9-7 record during the spring season... tallied a 3-0 record in Summit League action, picking up wins against IPFW, IUPUI and South Dakota State... finished the five-match winning streak dating back to April 9, 2009... picked up four doubles victories on the year.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a two-time state qualifier and set a school record with 89 wins... won a conference and sectional championship... named the Aurora Beacon News Boy’s Tennis Athlete of the Year... is currently ranked No. 81 in the USTA Midwest Boys’ singles... is the younger brother of former Leatherneck football and track star Fabien Bownes... Bownes played for the Chicago Bears and Seattle Seahawks of the NFL.

PERSONAL: Son of Larry and Jean Bownes Shepard... born May 15, 1990.
