Amy Beckman joined the Western Illinois University Intercollegiate
Athletics staff as an assistant athletic trainer in September 2009.
Beckman joins the staff after serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the University of New Mexico from August 2007-June 2009. While with the Lobos athletics department, she directly oversaw the athletic training services for the cross country and track and field teams. Beckman also coordinated the sports medicine coverage for the 2007 Mountain West Conference Cross Country Championships held in Albuquerque, N.M.
Before New Mexico, Beckman served as an athletic trainer at the South County Physical Therapy in Auburn, Mass. from 2004-07. She provided athletic training services to Nashoba Regional High School as well as designing conditioning programs for the school’s 18 athletic programs.
Beckman earned a bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Gustavus Adolphus College in 2004 and earned her masters degree in exercise science from New Mexico in 2009. She is certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) and National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
