ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Western
Illinois Football will have a second game broadcasted on regional/national
television during the 2010 season. The Fighting Leathernecks' October 16th game
at Hanson Field against Youngstown State will be televised on Fox Sports
Midwest and Fox College Sports as part of the Missouri Valley Football
Conference-produced television package.
The MVFC contest, part of Family Weekend festivities at Western, is scheduled
for a 6 p.m. kickoff. Western's game at Purdue on September 11th will be
televised on the Big Ten Network.
The
games will be produced for syndication on over-the-air and cable television
stations throughout the Midwest. Each of the four MVFC-produced games will air
live or taped on FS Midwest and Fox College Sports (FCS), which has a national
distribution of 56 million homes.
Western
opens the 2010 season at home on Thursday, September 2nd, against Valparaiso.
