HIGH SCHOOL: Totaled 1,800 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns his senior year... earned First Team All-State, First Team All-Conference and First Team All-Metro honors... Quad City Metro Player of the Year... also earned Offensive Player of the Year award in the Western Big Six Conference... during his junior year rushed for six touchdowns and 900 yards on the ground... picked up First Team All-Conference and All-Area honors... as a sophomore helped Rock Island to an 11-1 record and quarterfinals in the state playoffs... rushed for 400 yards and two touchdowns... joining the Leathernecks along with high school teammate Larry Harris... played for coach Vic Boblett.
