The longest-tenured staff member with Leatherneck athletics, Diane Bruns began her career in 1980 and eventually took over as the Director of Equipment Operations in 1992 serving in that capacity since. She oversees equipment room operations for all 20 Division I sports programs.

Bruns began her career in February 1980 as an equipment room attendant after receiving her bachelor’s degree in Physical Education in 1979 from Western Illinois. During her tenure she has been named Civil Service Employee of the Month on two occasions.

A native of LaHarpe, Ill., Bruns is a member of the Athletic Equipment Managers Association.
