MACOMB, Ill.
- The Western Illinois football program will host its Ladies' Leatherneck
Football Academy at Hanson Field on Wednesday, July 25, with all proceeds supporting
diabetes research.
Hosted
by head coach Mark Hendrickson, his
coaching staff and Football student-athletes, the Ladies' Leatherneck Football
Academy will give its attendees a fun insight into the game of football.
"The
Ladies' Leatherneck Academy will be a great fundraiser for diabetes and a fun
and safe atmosphere for the women of our community to learn the game of
football," said Director of Athletics Marketing Kelsey Homewood. "Our football coaching staff and players will
make it an exciting day for all women. Participants are encouraged to attend
and bring their friends and family for an enjoyable night with fellow
Leatherneck fans."
The
program starts with registration at 5:15 p.m. at the Football Locker Room. The
two-hour itinerary includes chalk talk, a film session, offensive and defensive
philosophies, position techniques, offense vs. defense, a kicking contest, a question
and answer session with coaches and players, and concludes with tailgating at
7:30 p.m.
Included
in the $30 registration fee is a T-shirt for all participants.
