MACOMB, Ill. - Tryouts for the Western Illinois softball team will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at Mary Ellen McKee Stadium, located behind Brophy Hall.
Registration for the tryout will begin at 2:45 p.m. with the tryout starting at 3 p.m. Players will participate in batting practice, infield and outfield drills, and timed running drills. Pitchers and catchers will tryout in the bullpens. Please wear appropriate clothing and bring your own glove, cleats and any other gear you may need for tryouts. Bats and helmets will be provided as well as catching gear, if needed.
Prior to participation in the tryout, a physical from the Beu Health Center must be completed and a sickle cell test must also be completed. Please see Becky Schluter in Western Hall 234 to get a physical form and other pertinent paperwork required for the tryouts. Players will not be given excused absences from class to attend the tryout. Only full-time Western Illinois students are eligible to participate.
