MACOMB, Ill. - Western Illinois women's soccer (9-2-0, 2-0-0) plays host to Drake (10-3-1) midweek on Wednesday (October 3) and heads to Indianapolis for a Summit League matchup against IUPUI (2-10-1, 0-1-1) on Saturday (October 6).
In competition last weekend, the Leathernecks posted a perfect 2-0 record in conference opening play. On Friday (September 28), the squad defeated Kansas City by a margin of 4-1. Chrissy Campbell, Jordan Walgren, Sarah Wright and Skyler Jessop came off of the bench to charge Western's offense netting all of the goals in the contest.
On Sunday (September 30), the squad picked up its fifth shutout of the season 2-0 over the Coyotes of South Dakota. Senior captain Katie Condon performed in dominant fashion, heading in both goals in the match.
Keeper Laura Atkinson notched 12 saves on the week, eight against the 'Roos and four against the Coyotes, to remain a perfect 5-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play. The Summit League awarded her the second Defensive Player of the Week nod of the season for her efforts.

Illinois tallied 22 points in the all Summit League coach vote. Oakland,
last year's Summit League Tournament Champion, was picked to finish
first with 61 points and regular season champions South Dakota State
took second with 59 points.
