MACOMB,
Ill. - Western Illinois men's basketball guard Ceola Clark III was named Papa John's
Scholar-Athlete of the Week for his accomplishments on the court and in the
classroom.
The Gurnee, Ill. native helped the men's basketball team to a 2-0 record on the week, with wins over Eastern Illinois and SIU-Edwardsville. The Leathernecks have now won four straight.
Clark finished the week having played 35 minutes, scored 11.5 points, tallied 4.0 steals, dished out 3.5 assists, and pulled down 2.0 rebounds per game.
On the year, Clark leads the team in scoring with 13.9 points points per game, and averages 3.5 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game. He is shooting 47.1% from the field, 47.2% from three, and 84.2% from the free throw line.
In the classroom, Clark has earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and is pursuing a Master's in Sport Management.
