PRIMM, Nev. - The Fighting Leatherneck women's golf team opened their spring season in Primm, Nevada with the Jackrabbit Invitational and finished ninth out of 13 teams with a three-round team score of 997 (337, 328, 332).
Houston Baptist University earned the team title (926), while North Dakota State's Amy Anderson earned the individual crown with a 209 (70, 70, 69).
The Leathernecks were led by junior Kristi Tschudin who finished tied for 19th individually with a three-round score of 236 (80, 77, 79).
Senior Emily Brink and sophomore Ashley Jeffers each finished in the top-55 individually, with Brink recording a 249 (87, 81, 81) and tying for 46th, and Jeffers finishing in 55th-place with a 254 (82, 86, 86).
Rounding out Western's top-five was senior Alexa Arent who finished tied for 58th with a score of 258 (88, 84, 86) and sophomore Jessica Knepp who finished 64th with a score of 271 (92, 92, 87).
Playing as an individual was Kelsea Visalli who finished tied for 58th with a three-round score of 258 (85, 93, 80).
Western returns to action Thursday (March 14) in Las Vegas with the Bison Invitational in Vegas which is hosted by Bucknell.
