EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Zach Glasebrook and Jamario Taylor won events as Western Illinois track & field competed at the SIUE Gateway Classic on Saturday.
Glasebrook dominated the javelin throw with a distance of 140-04, more than 22 feet better than the second-place finisher.
Taylor experienced similar success in the high jump. clearing a height of 6-11.75.
Dana LaRue surpassed her personal best in the hammer throw with a toss of 177-05, finishing fourth.
Nathaniel Marshall also set a new personal best mark in the hammer throw, finishing second with a throw of 189-11.
He added another career-best distance in the shot put, throwing 52-01.75, good for third place.
Jeffrey Liles and Matt Leal finished second and third in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing in 54.41 and 54.88, respectively.
Western Illinois will be back in action next weekend, competing at the prestigious Drake Relays Thursday through Saturday.
