Patty Murray,1995 - Patty is Western's premier female long-distance runner of all-time. She ran track and cross country from 1983 to 1987 and still holds 4 indoor and 3 outdoor WIU records. She was the first student-athlete to earn NCAA Division I All-America recognition and went on to compete at the 1987 Pan-American Games.
