The Western Illinois Athletics Department released its 2011-12 Annual Report, summarizing the numerous team and individual accomplishments - both athletically and academically - from the past season.
As the Leathernecks look forward to an even-more successful year in 2012-13, Athletic Media Services compiled a 'Top 12' highlight list from 2011-12. Starting Monday, July 23rd and the 10-day period leading into the Wednesday, August 1st report date for Leatherneck Football players (and unofficial start of the 2012-13 academic year), the 'Top 12' list will be revealed one each day - starting with #12, 11 and 10.
Looking through the report, fans will recognize how difficult it was trimming the list down to just 12 accomplishments/highlights. Several noteworthy highlights will be named among the Honorable Mention list, also announced on the final day. Fans can also share thoughts on what events they think should be in the Top 12 via Twitter by messaging @WIUAthletics or by using the hashtag #Western12n12. Some of the best fan-opinion tweets will be shared.
