ELMHURST, Ill. - The Summit League announced Western Illinois women's soccer (13-5-0 overall, 5-3-0 Summit League) will enter this year's Summit League Championship as the No. 4 seed. The tournament begins this Friday (November 2) and wraps up on Sunday (November 4) in Brookings, S.D.
Oakland (9-5-3, 6-2-0) earned the No. 1 seed, Fort Wayne (9-7-1, 5-2-1) took the No. 2 seed and North Dakota State is seeded No. 3 (8-9-0, 5-3-0).
The Fighting Leathernecks begin championship play with a rematch against No. 1 seeded Oakland (9-5-3, 6-2-0) at 3 p.m. on Friday. Western faced the Golden Grizzlies in the Summit League regular season title deciding match on Sunday (October 28) and fell 1-0.
