MACOMB, Ill. - Western Illinois Athletics is continuing its annual "Food Fight" during Saturday's women's basketball game, when the Leatherneck women take on Kansas City (Jan. 26) inside Western Hall. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.

Adults who bring four cans of non-perishable food and children 12 and under that bring two non-perishable food items will receive free tickets to the game.

The annual event, now in its fifth year, is a Summit League-wide food drive initiative tied in with Students Team Up to Fight Hunger (STUFH) and organized by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) at each institution. All food donated during both games at Western Hall will go to the Western Illinois Regional Council (WIRC) in Macomb.

After great success at last Saturday's first Food Fight Night during the Leatherneck men's basketball game, Western Illinois Athletics is hopeful that last years total of 3,050 pounds of food raised can be surpassed following this weekend's game.
