MACOMB, Ill. - The Western Illinois soccer programs announced the dates for the 2013 Elite Soccer Academy for boys and girls who will be entering grades 6 through 12.

The camp will take place from Sunday, June 9 through Wednesday, June 12.

Camp directors include head men's soccer coach Dr. Eric Johnson, entering his 17th season at the helm, at head women's coach Ted Flogaites, who is coming off a successful first season in Macomb.

"We're looking forward to this year's Elite Soccer Academy," Johnson said. "I always enjoy working with younger students and helping them improve their skills, and welcoming coach Flogaites for the first time this year will help develop the campers even more."

"I think it will be a fantastic opportunity to work with some great players and to help them grow technically, tactically, psychologically and physically in what I think will be a very competitive environment," Floigates added. "Of course I'm also excited to work with coach Johnson; he's certainly a coach with vast amounts of knowledge and experience, and in the coaching profession you can always learn more."

The cost for the full camp, which includes room, board, meals, insurance, T-shirt, soccer ball and awards is $275.

Other options are available for day campers ($165) and a daily rate (three meals and one night of lodging - $100).

Camp will include instructions on technical play during morning sessions, while afternoon and evening sessions will focus on tactical decisions and team play.

A youth camp, for children ages 5-12, will take place June 10-13 from 9 a.m. to noon, for a price of $60.

The registration form, as well as additional details on the camp, is included on the attached camp brochure. For more information, contact Johnson ( or 309-298-1954) or Flogaites ( or 309-298-1906)
