CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - Dana LaRue won two events to lead Western Illinois track & field at the Jack Jennett Invite, a non-scoring meet, on Northern Iowa's campus at the UNI-Dome on Saturday.

Additionally, sophomore Glenn Powell broke his own record in the 60-meter hurdles. After breaking the previous record of 8.29 by .01 seconds last weekend, Powell bested that mark by finishing in 8.23 on Saturday.

Senior Jamario Taylor matched his career best in the high jump by clearing 7-00.50, a top 25 mark in the nation.

Nathaniel Marshall also entered the top 25 in the country, with his event being the weight throw. For the fourth straight meet, Marshall set a career best, this time by throwing 63'10.25, second best in program history and more than a foot further than his previous career mark.

LaRue continued her success, as she picked up victories in both the shot put and weight throw. She bested the field of 21 in the shot put by throwing 48-06.00, and followed that up with a mark of 58-06.00 to win the weight throw over the field of 25.

In the 1,000-meter run, Chelsea Lynes picked up her second victory of the season by finishing in 2:58.74, more than five seconds faster than the second-place finisher.

After finishing the preliminaries with the fastest time, sophomore Justin Kilpatrick finished second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.96, second-fastest in program history.

The Leathernecks will be back in action next weekend, as the squad will be split between the Meyo Invitational on the University of Notre Dame campus and the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational on the University of Nebraska campus. The meets will be WIU's first two-day meets of the season.
