NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Due to inclement weather, Western Illinois softball will not complete its first game against Jackson State or play its second game against Valparaiso at the 2013 Belmont Spring Tournament on Sunday (Feb. 10).
The Leathernecks were tied 4-4 in the third inning with Jackson State when the rain storm hit. A delay followed before the final decision was made. The statistics will be erased from the contest and will not impact season totals.
Western returns to action at the Bama Bash Feb. 22-24 in Tuscaloosa, Ala. following a weekend off. The Leathernecks face Winthrop and preseason No. 1 Alabama on Friday (Feb. 22) and Saturday (Feb. 23), then close the tournament against Iowa on Sunday (Feb. 24).
