KELLER, Texas - The 2013 women's golf team concluded its season with a fifth-place finish in The Summit League Championships Wednesday (April 24) after recording a 997 (340-333-324) during the three-day event.

"I was pleased that our team was able to improve on their scores each day of the tournament," said head coach Lia Biehl Lukkarinen. "It was nice for our team to be able to improve a spot in the final standings after the final round and end our season on a positive note."

Senior Emily Brink put together the team's best round of the tournament in the final round, a 75, moving her up into a fifth-place finish with a three-round score of 239. The Quincy, Ill. native had two birdies and 29 pars in the tournament.

Brink's fifth-place finish earns the senior her first career all-tournament team honor.

"Emily played really well today and Tuesday, which propelled her into the top five and a part of the all-tournament team, so I'm really proud of her," stated Lukkarinen. " We also saw nice final-round improvements from Kristi (Tschudin) and Alexa (Arent)."

Also finishing in the top 25 was junior Kristi Tschudin who carded a 250 (86-85-79) and placed 21st. Tschudin, a Swansea, Ill. native, led all Leathernecks with a team-best five birdies and 23 parred holes.
