Powell, Dollison Earn All-Summit Honors as Championships Conclude

MUNCIE, Ind. - Two more Leathernecks earned All-Summit League honors as Western Illinois track & field concluded competition at the Summit League Championships on Saturday (May 11).

The men's team finished fifth of seven teams with 82 points, while the women were seventh out of nine with 27 points. North Dakota State won both league crowns.

Glenn Powell and Davin Dollison each had second-place finishes to earn All-Conference kudos.

Powell was second in the 110-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 14.33, a new career-best which ranks fourth in program history.

Dollison added a second-place finish in the triple jump, leaping a career-best 47-06.50 to reach the podium.

In the men's discus throw, Nathaniel Marshall finished sixth (156-03) and Breyonte Brewer finished eighth (153-01).

The Leathernecks also received sixth-place finishes from Matt Leal (400-meter hurdles - 55.00) and Justin Kilpatrick (100-meter dash - 10.87), while Breanna Moore finished eighth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:05.35).

Western Illinois' two conference champions (Jamario Taylor and Dana LaRue) are tied for the most the program has had in a season since earning four titles in 2008.

The Leathernecks also received a total of eight All-Summit League finishes this outdoor season.

WIU will now await the NCAA Regional selections to determine which Leathernecks will travel to the NCAA West Regional at Texas May 23-25.
