For the second consecutive year, Western Illinois swimming and diving's Doug Ogilvie was named the Summit League's 'Diver of the Year'.
The sophomore earned Summit League Swimming and Diving 'Athlete of the Week' honors on two occasions, posted eight first-place event finishes, and qualified for the NCAA Zone Diving Championship meet held at Purdue during the 2012-13 season.
At the 2013 Summit League Championships, Ogilvie finished fourth in the three-meter (278.85) and fifth in one-meter (264.00) competition. The Oswego, Ill. native, went on to outperform fellow Summit League divers at the NCAA Zone Diving Championship placing 35th (259.55) in the one-meter and 37th (270.10) in three-meter events.
In his Leatherneck career, Ogilvie has been tabbed Summit League 'Athlete of the Week' on five occasions, named Summit League 'Diver of the Championship' and 'Diver of the Year' in 2012, and now 'Diver of the Year' in 2013.Be sure to check back tomorrow for #9 on the #WIU13n13.
