Mohamed Conde is Sixth Player to Join 2013 Recruiting Class

MACOMB, Ill. -
Western Illinois head men’s basketball coach Jim Molinari announced the addition of Mohamed Conde (Belleville, Mich./Saginaw Valley State/Columbus State Community College) to the Fighting Leathernecks’ 2013 signing class. Conde is the sixth member of the incoming class.

"Mo (Conde) will bring great length and athletic ability which will translate to him being a very versatile defender, will be able to guard multiple positions, and get activity on the offense board," head coach Jim Molinari said. "His attitude on and off the court will allow him to use his talents to the fullest extent.

The 6-7, 200-pound forward spent the past two seasons at Columbus State Community College where he was named All-Conference Honorable Mention as a freshman, while being tabbed First Team All-Conference and First Team NJCAA in Region 12 as a sophomore. He averaged 14.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game in 2012-13.

Conde was also named the Columbus State Sport and Exercise Science 'Student of the Year'.

His college career began at Saginaw Valley State, where he redshirted in 2010-11.

The Belleville, Michigan native lettered all four years in high school and was named All-League in three of those seasons. Conde played in the 2010 Michigan All-Star Game.
