Men's, Women's Track & Field Squads Receive USTFCCCA All-Academic Kudos

NEW ORLEANS - The Western Illinois men's and women's track & field teams earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team honors, the association announced on Wednesday afternoon.

Both the men's and women's programs received the recognition by posting a cumulative team grade point average above 3.00.

The Leatherneck women's GPA of 3.12 made the team one of 187 Division I programs to receive the honor, marking the second consecutive season the Western Illinois women earned the achievement.

On the men's side, WIU's team GPA of 3.09 made the squad one of 111 programs at 3.00 or above.

2012-13 marked a successful academic year for Leatherneck track & field, as Nathaniel Marshall received indoor & outdoor Academic All-Summit League, while Jeffrey Liles also earned Academic All-Conference honors during the outdoor season.
