MACOMB, Ill. - Western Illinois Athletics held its annual "Leatherneck Fan Day" on Sunday (August 12), as many Leatherneck fans were able to meet and greet coaches and student-athletes from all of Western's fall sports, while participating in several events.
The Leatherneck football team sponsored a clinic for children on Hanson Field, while coaches and student-athletes from men's and women's soccer, volleyball, men's and women's cross country, along with football, were on hand to sign autographs for fans during the event.
Fans were also able to meet the cheerleaders and both Rocky and Colonel Rock III.
Kids were provided several blow-up play areas, and all fans were provided food, Coca-Cola products and promotional materials for the upcoming fall sports season.
The men's soccer team opens up the fall season on Monday when it takes on Grand View at John Mackenzie Alumni Field at 5 p.m. in an exhibition contest, while women's soccer will play the first regular season game of the fall on Aug. 19, playing host to Northern Iowa at 1 p.m.
