EVANSTON, Ill. - Despite several strong performances, Western Illinois men's tennis fell 6-0 to #18-ranked Northwestern inside the Combe Tennis Center on Sunday night.
Five Leathernecks won at least four games over two sets, as the teams also opted not to compete in doubles action.
Ben Yue (No. 4 singles) and Mitch Granger (No. 5 singles) fell by identical 6-2, 6-3 scores.
Bradley Holt and Max Cederkall also won five games apiece. Holt fell 6-3, 6-2 at third singles, while Cederkall lost a 6-4, 6-1 decision at sixth singles.
At second singles, Patrick Hammers dropped a hard-fought 6-2, 6-2 contest.
The Leathernecks will now have nearly a month off, before returning to Summit League action in early April.
