Leathernecks Fall in Season Finale

GALESBURG, Ill. - The Fighting Leatherneck women's tennis team concluded their 2013 season with a 7-0 defeat to Bradley University on Wednesday (Apr. 17).

The match was played in Galesburg at the Lakeside Tennis Club due to rain in Macomb. 

In singles play the Braves took all six. At number one singles it was Adele Henke defeating Yessenia Mejia 6-1, 6-0. Elana Berdichevsky fell at number two singles to Sarah Rodefeld 6-4, 6-2. It was Cassia Wojtalik defeating Megan Pazdernick at number three singles 6-1, 6-2. Holly Conlin faltered at number four singles to Bradley's Elizabeth Przystawski 6-0, 6-0. Kennedy Scott beat Kristen Havelka at number five singles 6-1, 6-1. Finally, in what was the most exciting match of the day, Ese Davis fell 6-4, 6-4 to Brigitte Graf in number six singles.

In doubles play, it was the pairing of Henke and Rodefeld that defeated Berdichevsky and Pazdernick, 8-1. Mejia and Conlin fell to Scott and Miles, 8-0. Lastly, Przystawski and Meredith McDonagh beat Jessica Callahan and Jessica Theobald, 8-1. 

The Leathernecks finish their season 1-17 overall and 0-7 in Summit League Conference play.
