MACOMB, Ill. – Terriun Crump joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie mini-camp on a tryout, and the former All-Missouri Valley Football Conference wide receiver wound up signing with the club on Wednesday (May 22). The team announced the signing on its Facebook homepage.
The Leathernecks’ co-Most Valuable Player in 2011, Crump spent part of the 2012 preseason with the Chicago Bears before getting released. A First Team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference selection in 2011, he was tied for second in the league in receptions per game (5.5) and second in yards (85.8 ypg). Crump caught 61 passes for 944 yards, which still rank him fourth and sixth, respectively, among the Western season ‘Top 10’ leaders.
In 35 games played during his three-year career (2009-11) Crump accumulated: 2,067 yards (fourth all-time in Western history), 135 receptions (fifth), 11 touchdowns (tied 10th) and 59.1 receiving yards per game (eighth). He also tied the season (5) and career (8) records for most 100-yard receiving games.
Crump was on the 2010 Leatherneck team that posted one of the best turnarounds in program history and advanced to the NCAA Division I playoffs.
