ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Western Illinois had four student-athletes earn the Missouri Valley Football Conference’s highest academic honor as the Academic Honor Roll was announced on Tuesday. Those four Leathernecks received the Missouri Valley Football Conference President’s Council Academic Excellence Award.
Keith Enderlein (Glencoe, CA/Calaveras), Wil Lunt (Rochester/Rochester), Justin Morgan (Chicago/Mount Carmel) and Jamel Wilmore (Gaithersburg, MD/Kennedy) earned the prestigious award as Western tied for most student-athletes honored league-wide. The President's Council Academic Excellence Award requires a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average (through Fall 2012 semester) and participation in athletics a minimum of two years. The student-athlete must be within 18 hours of graduation.
The Leathernecks also had 31 football student-athletes named to the MVFC Academic Honor Roll.
