MACOMB, Ill. – Western Illinois’ Taylor Hill (Rochester/Rochester) has been named Papa John’s Scholar-Athlete of the Week for his performance last Saturday (Oct. 19) at 15th-ranked Youngstown State. The sophomore tight end turned in a career-high performance in the Missouri Valley Football Conference game.
Hill caught a career-high four passes totaling 27 against the league co-leading Penguins. Two of his catches went for a first down (including one on fourth down) and another set up a first down situation for the Fighting Leathernecks.
On the year Hill has six catches for 47 yards, playing in all eight games with seven starts. He also owns a 3.571 GPA majoring in Mathematics.
The Leatherneck Football team returns to Hanson Field this Saturday (Oct. 26) to face Missouri State. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. and tickets can be purchased online at GoLeathernecks.com or by phone at (309) 298-1190.
