ELMHURST, Ill. - The Summit League announced its All-League teams on Wednesday night (May 23) and Western Illinois baseball landed three on the league's second team. Senior shortstop Austin Cowen, junior outfielder Dan Dispensa and senior starting pitcher Rich Mascheri were all named to the Summit League's Second Team. All three collect their first All-League honors.

Cowen started all 53 games and hit .317 with nine doubles, two triples and four home runs while driving in a team-high 41 runs batted in. His 41 RBI were seventh most in the league.

Dispensa appeared in all 53 games in 2012 and led the team, and was fourth in The Summit League with a .344 batting average. Dispensa drove in 28 RBI with 12 doubles, three triples and two home runs and a team-high 90 total bases.

Mascheri finished the season with the sixth lowest ERA in The Summit League at 3.39 and struck out 72 batters, which was the fourth most in the league, in a team-high 90.1 innings with three victories. Mascheri is the first pitcher to be recognized since Travis Tolsma collected second team honors in 2008.
