NORMAL, Ill. - Former Western Illinois baseball standout Rich
Mascheri (Wauconda, Ill./Wauconda) was recently named a Frontier League
All-Star, representing the Normal CornBelters on the West Division team.
Mascheri will be one of four CornBelters to play in the State Farm Frontier League All-Star Game, which Normal hosts on Wednesday (July 11) at 6:30 p.m. at The Corn Crib.

Since signing with the CornBelters after the conclusion of
the Fighting Leathernecks' 2012 season, Mascheri has recorded a team-best 1.88
ERA and shares the lead with five saves in 15 games with Normal. He is averaging more than a
strikeout per inning, fanning 29 batters in 24.0 innings pitched.
A Second Team All-Summit League selection following his senior year, Mascheri finished the 2012 campaign with a 3.39 ERA and 72 strikeouts, fourth most in the Summit League.
He was also named Summit League Pitcher of the Week on February 20 after tossing 7.0 shutout innings in a season-opening 7-5 win at Georgia State (on February 17), striking out five batters and allowing just four hits.
