MACOMB, Ill. - Western Illinois head coach Jim Molinari announced the signing of freshman guard Jordan Foster (Chicago, Ill./Seton Academy) to a national letter of intent Wednesday (June 13).

The 5' 11", 175 pound point guard said the team's desire to win was a reason he chose Western Illinois.

"I chose Western Illinois because I could see how badly the coaches and players want to win, and that's obviously really important to me," said Jordan Foster. "I could tell the players are like a family, and I also think I will be able to develop my game while at Western."

Foster joins the Leatherneck family after helping lead Seton Academy (Chicago), where he was a team captain both his junior and senior years, to a fourth-place finish in state in 2012, and a 51-15 overall record over his final two years.

"Jordan will be solid for our program both on and off the court," said head coach Jim Molinari. "He is a very athletic young man, so we know that he will be able to defend at this level. Besides being athletic, Jordan comes from a tough league and a winning program which will help in his transition to the next level."

During his junior season (2010-11) Seton finished 22-9 overall and was the Chicago Catholic League Conference Champions. Foster was named to the Chicago Catholic League All-Conference team, the Chicago Catholic League All-Academic team and won the team's Seton Award, which is given to the heart and soul of the team.

The 2011-12 Seton Sting finished 29-6 overall, winning the 2012 Chicago Catholic League Conference Championship again, as well as the 2012 Regional, Sectional and Super Sectional Championships. Foster averaged 18.5 points and 6.5 assists per game while earning the team's 'Seton Award' for the second time in his career. He was also tabbed Chicago Catholic League All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-Area by Northwest Times after his senior season.
