MACOMB, Ill. - The first ever Leatherneck Women's Soccer Kid's Clinic was held on the April 28. The event drew 22 kids ages 4 to 13 years old.
The event also raised funds for the McDonough County Special Recreation Association (MCSRA).
"The women's soccer program has provided opportunities for enriching experiences for the MCSRA participants by donating their time and skills," said MCSRA Program Coordinator, Nikki Gray. "That sense of community will continue to support the vitality of this organization."
The hope it to make this an annual event and attract more and more children to spread the word of soccer within the community while benefiting the MCSRA.
"Our soccer program enjoyed the day camp," said Head Coach Tony Guinn. "It is important to do things like this for the community and being able to meet young people. We also enjoyed the opportunity to expose them to our student-athletes."
The one-day event raised $305 for the MCSRA.
