MACOMB, Ill. - Western Illinois women's soccer (12-4-0 overall, 4-2-0 Summit League) goes back on the road for its final regular season weekend of play. The Leathernecks face current Summit League frontrunner Fort Wayne (8-6-1, 4-1-1) on Friday (October 26) and third-place Oakland (7-5-3, 4-2-0) on Sunday (October 28).
With two victories, Western will be able to clinch the regular season Summit League title and claim the number one seed heading into the Summit League Tournament held in Brookings, S.D. beginning next Friday (November 2).
In action last weekend, the Leathernecks trumped Omaha in 1-0 in overtime on Friday (October 19). Jennika Myers fired a shot from 20 yards out that ricocheted off the crossbar and Jordan Walgren was there to head it in for the game-winning goal in the third minute of the extra frame. It marked Walgren's fourth goal of the year and second game-winner. Myers picked up her first assist of the season on the goal.
Keeper Victoria Kappel earned her fifth victory in net and her third shutout in the match. She tallied a total of seven saves.

Western Illinois tallied 22 points in the all Summit League coach vote.
