MACOMB, Ill. - Head Coach Mel Blasi announced the addition of two student-athletes to his Western Illinois men's golf program. Alex Templin (Brown County) and Austin Von Alst (Belleville Althoff) will continue the development of the highly successful program.
"Alex has had a very successful high school and junior golf career and is an extremely hard worker at the game of golf," stated Blasi. "He comes from nearby Brown County and is very familiar with our program and what it takes to be a Leatherneck. He knows the game fundamentally and will become an excellent collegiate player as he learns the college game."
"Austin comes from a State Championship Program at Belleville Althoff. He finished third at the IHSA State Tournament last fall individually. Austin is a competitor and understands the team dynamics that make up a champion. His determination and confidence will make an immediate impact on our program."
