MACOMB, Ill. - Western Illinois freshman diver Doug Ogilvie was named the 2012 Diver of the Year, as announced on Wednesday (April 4) by The Summit League office. The recipient is chosen via a league coaches vote.

During his first season as a Leatherneck, Ogilvie etched his name in the Western Illinois record book. He reset the three-meter diving record and Brophy Pool record to 354.53 and ranks second in school history in one-meter diving with his season best of 319.50. His three-meter score was a Summit League wide top score, while his one-meter score ranked second overall.

The Oswego, Ill. native was tabbed 2012 Summit League Diver of the Championship for his performance at the Summit League Championships held in Rochester, Mich. in February, where he was crowned the three-meter and one-meter champion.

Ogilvie was also a three-time Summit League Athlete of the Week and qualified for NCAA Zones in both one-meter and three-meter diving events.
