MACOMB, Ill. - Western Illinois swimming and diving head coach Greg Naumann announced that an additional three signees will join the 2012-13 recruiting class as freshmen in the fall. Abby Hansen of Mukwonago, Wis., Shawn Farrar of Wentzville, Mo. and Dylon Rykosky of Metairie, La. bring the class total up to 15.

High School: East Troy
Parents: Todd & Susan Hansen
Abby Hansen, a four-year All-American and All-Conference honoree, helped East Troy to three consecutive conference and sectional championships (2009, 2010 and 2011). As a senior, she was the conference and sectional champion in 100 back. Hanson, also a four-year letterwinner, qualified for State in her sophomore, junior and senior seasons and owns school records in the 200 free relay and 400 free relay.
Hansen plans to pursue a degree in Business with a Marketing focus while at Western Illinois. Her ultimate career goal is to run an advertising agency.
Head Coach Greg Naumann: "Abby will be coming in as our top backstroker for next year. She will be leading the way on or medley relays and will have the potential to place in the top 16 and possibly in the top eight in 100 and 200 backstroke events."

High School: Fort Zumwalt North
Parents: Thomas Michael & Victoria Christine Farrar
Shawn Farrar earned five varsity letters during his time at Fort Zumwalt North, three in swimming and two in tennis. He qualified for State in 50 free and 200 free relay events as a junior and 50 free and 100 free events as a senior. The two-year team captain and most valuable player holds school records in 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 fly, 200 IM, 200 medley relay, 200 free relay and 400 free relay.
Farrar plans to pursue a degree Pharmacy while at Western Illinois with the ultimate career goal of becoming a pharmacist.
Head Coach Greg Naumann: "Shawn will be adding some more depth to our sprint freestyle group and also to our breaststroke group. He has the ability to score points in the 100 breaststroke at conference, and I would expect to see him helping the team score more points in other events."

High School: East Jefferson
Parents: Richard Rykosky & Orlene Lockhart-Rykosky
Dylon Rykosky, a six-time swimming Louisiana State Champion, earned a total of nine varsity letters at East Jefferson, four in swimming, two in cross country and track and field and one in soccer. As a swimmer, he earned All-State, All-Metro and All-District honors in 2008-11 and served as the team captain three years in a row. Rykosky was also named to the 2011 All-State Commissioners' Honor Roll and recognized as the 2011 East Jefferson High School's Wendy's Heisman Award winner, 2011 WWL Television and Ronald McDonald's A+ Athlete Award winner and 2011 Outstanding Metro Swimmer.
In 2011, Rykosky was the Division II State Champion in the 200 free and 100 fly events. He also earned State Champion titles in 200 free and 500 free in 2010 and 2009 and finished State Runner-Up in the 200 IM in 2008.
Rykosky is currently undecided on the degree he will pursue during his time at Western Illinois.
Head Coach Greg Naumann: "Dylon will be one of the most versatile swimmers that we will have on our team next year. He will be adding one of the fastest times for our middle distance freestyle events and will also be challenging Jake Shain and Josh Davis for the top 200 butterfly and 400 individual medley events, respectively. I also expect to see Dylon make an impact on this team and at the conference meet during his freshman campaign. Right now, he should end up being a member of our 800 free relay at conference and should also make the all-time top ten list in multiple events next season."
