MACOMB, Ill. - Western Illinois added two high school recruits from Florida to its 2012 football signing class. Head coach Mark Hendrickson announced Deon Mann (Miami, FL/Central) and Andrew Dubois (Orlando, FL/Acceleration Academy) will join the Leathernecks this fall.
Hendrickson's newest additions increase the total to 27 signees.
Mann, a 6-0/215 pound linebacker, was selected All-Miami Dade County last year leading Miami Central High School to a Class 6A state runner-up finish. Voted team captain on defense, he recorded 68 tackles during his senior season, five quarterback sacks and three forced fumbles. During his junior year Mann helped Central and coach Telly Lockett win the state championship with 30 tackles, an interception for touchdown and two sacks.
Dubois,
listed at 6-0 and 195 pounds, played defensive end and quarterback for coach
Marc Rankin at East River High School but is projected as a linebacker for the
Leathernecks. He was voted Most Valuable Player and Player of the Week as East
River won the Eastern Conference championship. He lettered in track and field,
basketball and football.
