MACOMB, Ill. - Western Illinois looks to build momentum heading into the 2015 Summit League Championships as the final week of the regular season begins. The Leathernecks face their final noncoference opponent on Tuesday (April 28), when they travel to Urbana, Illinois to face Illinois.

Tuesday's matchup is the second game against a Big Ten opponent for Western this season. Western defeated Iowa, 11-8, on April 1.

SCOUTING THE ILLINI: Allie Bauch headlines an Illini offense that has scored 300 runs in 2015... Bauch is hitting .402 with 18 doubles, 11 home runs and 34 RBIs... Bauch is joined by Jess Perkins, who leads the team with 47 RBIs... Nicole Evans is not far behind with 45 RBIs and a team-best 16 home runs... Carly Thomas has hit 14 doubles this season, second behind Bauch.. The Illini have hit 89 doubles as a team... Annie Fleming has emerged as the starting third baseman this season... Fleming has three doubles and five home runs... In the circle, Jade Vecvanags has made 35 appearances this year with 22 starts... Vecvanags is 17-10 on the year with a 5.18 ERA... The sophomore has allowed 106 earned runs through 143.1 innings, striking out 106 and walking 97... Shelese Arnold is 4-6 with a 7.40 ERA... Arnold has allowed 81 earned in 76.2 innings... Terri Sullivan is the only coach in Illini softball history... The program began in 1999.

SERIES HISTORY: Western and Illinois first met in 1983, a 5-2 Western Illinois victory... Western defeated Illinois again in 2007... Since then Illinois has won three-straight... Western lost the last meeting 1-5 in 2012. The Leathernecks trail the all-time series 2-3.

LEATHERNECKS TAKE ONE FROM 'YOTES: Western Illinois wrapped up its home schedule with a three-game series against South Dakota... Western Illinois won the finale against the Coyotes 6-3... Sammy Marshall became Western Illinois' all-time hits leader and Lia Romeo broke The Summit League's hit by pitch record... The Leathernecks win over USD was the first in program history.
