Lance Lenoir Invited to Post-Draft Mini-Camp with the Chicago Bears

Western’s all-time leading receiver accepts invitation

MACOMB, Ill. – Lance Lenoir, Western Illinois football's all-time leading receiver, accepted an invitation to the Chicago Bears post-draft rookie mini-camp.

"I was expecting to get drafted, but this is a great opportunity I have with the Chicago Bears. It's a great feeling, but I've got a lot to prove and I want to show what the other 31 teams missed out on," said Lenoir.

Following his senior year, Lenoir was named Third Team All-America by HERO Sports and STATS. A three-time All-Missouri Valley Football Conference selection, twice earning First Team accolades, Lenoir ended his Leatherneck career as the all-time leader in: receptions (273), yards (3,796), touchdowns (28), 100-yard games (14), 200-yard games (2) and consecutive games with a catch (41). In all, he is listed among the 'Top 5' receiving leaders on 29 occasions for single-game, season and career records.

"I've been an underdog all my life, now I have the opportunity to show what I can do. I'm confident in my abilities, it's time to put the work in and go get it," said Lenoir. "I'm just blessed to showcase my abilities and prove everyone wrong who doubted me."

The durable Lenoir played in all 48 games of his Leatherneck career, starting in 47 of those games. Lenoir's career receptions broke the MVFC all-time record and he ended his impressive career third all-time in yards. He helped the Leathernecks rebuild the program, recording a winning record his final two years, including a 2015 NCAA Division I playoff appearance.

The Bears currently list 10 players at wide receiver on their roster.
